MANZANITA
PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL
MICHAEL VALVERDE
STEM Teacher
Michael Valverde is excited to return to his role as STEM Teacher for all students at Manzanita. He appreciates how lucky he is to see so many kids having hands-on science time. This year, he will also be teaching the Spanish elective for 6th graders, drawing from his years in bilingual immersion at the elementary level.
Mr. Valverde grew up loving languages and eventually got his bachelor's degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing with a Minor in Studio Art from Stanford University. After some time in New York City working in real estate and custom furniture manufacturing, he returned to California and attended Cal Poly for his teaching credential. Both of his kids have attended Manzanita since kindergarten.
Mr. Valverde coaches the robotics team and the Math Super Bowl team. He is a music enthusiast and likes to practice guitar. He is looking forward to sharing many student-centered learning experiences this year.
