Hello! My name is Lexie Rickards, and this is my third-year teaching at Manzanita Public Charter School and my 9th year as a classroom teacher.  I have over 15 years of classroom experience and have taught students at various ages of their academic development.

My undergraduate education was focused on art and literature.  I have a master’s degree in education (Curriculum and Instruction) as well as a Reading Endorsement through the University of West Florida.  I love the learning process and finding best practices to bring to the classroom.  My favorite moments in the classroom are the “ah-ha” moments of learning and when students share a perspective that I’ve never thought of before. We are all on the journey of learning together!

After 12 moves and 28 years in the Air Force, my spouse retired from the Air Force and now we call the Central Coast our home. I have two adult children, who are pursuing careers in the science field. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and running outdoors. If you don’t find me outside, then I’m home curled up with a book.
