MANZANITA
PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL
SKYLAR DOMINGUEZ
Second Grade Teacher
I am thrilled to be a third-grade teacher this year at Manzanita Charter School! My name is Mrs. Dominguez, and I am honored to be part of this
wonderful community. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I earned my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and later completed my Masters Degree in School Counseling at
Southeastern Oklahoma State University. My husband is in the Air Force, which has led us to relocate to Vandenberg. In our free time, we enjoy
watching movies and playing board games.
Every year is filled with lots of learning both from the students and myself. I get to have the great gift of getting to know each student individually. Understanding a child's interests, abilities, cultural background, and learning style is key to becoming a better teacher. I believe students need to have an active role in their education. Asking questions, working with others, self-assessing, and thinking outside of the box are just a few ways a student can take ownership of their learning and I hope to foster that in my teaching. It is my belief that every child can learn. Being a role model for my students and showing them respect and allowing each child's thoughts and ideas to be heard and valued will make my classroom into a nurturing environment.
As a teacher, I understand that communication is crucial. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me via
ParentSquare or email. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible. I am excited to work at Manzanita and be able to create a positive and productive learning experience for your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dominguez
