My name is Lucy Benson and I am the proud mother of three fun and energetic girls. I
have a wonderfully supportive husband and a 15 pound fur ball named Marley.
I was born in Mexico and immigrated to Illinois at the age of five. I grew up with two
brothers, a sister and hard working parents who came to this country to give their children
many opportunities. Growing up, I was always told education was the key to success. So,
with the support of my parents, I attend and graduated from Illinois State University with
a bachelors degree in Elementary Education.
Due to military moves, I have had the unique opportunity to teach multiple grade levels and
bilingual classes in various states. While being here, at VAFB, I have enjoyed teaching part time
at Manzanita for the last three years. Now, I am even more excited to be teaching full
time and in a grade I love, Kindergarten.
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family outdoors. We all love bike riding,
swimming, traveling and playing all kinds of sports. I also enjoy listening to music and
