Hi, my name is Christine Petrone. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in the suburbs outside of the city. I attended Illinois State University where I earned my degree in Elementary Education. After college I moved to San Antonio to pursue my career in education. While teaching in San Antonio I met my wonderful husband, Nick. We have been married for 17 years and have a beautiful daughter Bella. My husband is in the Air Force which has given me the unique opportunity to live and teach in Panama, North Carolina, Florida, Texas (again), and now California. I have taught grades spanning first through fifth, as well as working as the invention teacher and science lab teacher for the intermediate grades. Recently I received my Masterís degree through Lamar University in Teacher Leadership.
Living is California for the past 5 years has given my family and I time to explore the sandy beaches, farmers markets, big cities, quaint towns, and amazing outdoor sites and activities. When I am not out exploring, I enjoy cooking, scrapbooking, and biking.
I am looking forward to this school year, where the approach to teaching and learning is innovative, motivating, and scholar driven. I know this is going to be a great year with the 5th grade scholars in room 13.
